As You Sow, Editor and Communications Project Coordinator 2022-2024

As an editor and communications project coordinator for the non-profit organization As You Sow, I strengthened and polished public-facing reports, shareholder resolutions, the organization’s 2024 strategic plan, and funder media kits.

Three Sides Water, Editor

In the summer of 2017,  I had the privilege and opportunity to copy edit the literary fiction work Three Sides Water by Peter Donahue, a 360 page novel comprised of three separate stories. The editorial team consisted of myself and three other Ooligan Press graduate students. From the first read through of the manuscript, to the third and final, this project was deeply satisfying. The author himself said it was “the most thorough editorial experience” of his writing career. It’s a lovely book, and I am proud to have contributed to its beauty.

International Society for Technology in Education, Editorial Assistant

From June 2016 to December 2016, I worked as an intern for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).  ISTE publishes books geared towards educators utilizing technology in their K-12 classrooms. My work at ISTE was very different from other creative projects, and I was glad at the opportunity to branch out and apply my editing skills to more technical content. I was responsible for providing copyedits and developmental edits to five titles and preparing the HTML copy for ISTE’s catalog as well. These projects can be viewed on my Google drive here.

Portland Review, Editorial Assistant

I was an editorial assistant for Portland Review from September 2017 through December 2018. From reading submissions for acquisition to editing the 2018 edition of the literary journal, my work at Portland Review gave me a rich experience of reading and editing creative fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.
