About Stephanie
I graduated from Portland State University with a Master of Science in Book Publishing in December 2018 and from Goddard College in 2008 with a Master of Arts in Transformative Language Arts. I hold a BA in Humanities, with a concentration in Literature from Marylhurst University.
Writing and wordsmithing have been my passions since I first encountered the joy and necessity of stories at an early age.
Early favorite childhood books include Portland’s beloved Ramona Series by Beverly Cleary and L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. If asked, I’m likely to recommend Mink River by Brian Doyle or The Wall by Marlen Haushoffer. Recent reads now displayed on my bookshelf include The Overstory by Richard Powers, Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders, and Searoad by Ursula LeGuin.
I wrote my first “novella” in the 5th grade — a 36-page fantasy fiction tale called The Queen of the Roses, and I’m currently working on a second draft of a historical fiction novel set in the Pacific Northwest.
I love talking to cats, cooking in the kitchen, and swimming in fresh bodies of water.
